David Higgins Joins Yourbrandhere.org / Ignition Motorsport Rally Team

Current BRC Teams Championship leaders, yourbrandhere.org / Ignition Motorsport Rally Team gear up for Round 2, The Carlisle Stages Rally with a new recruit.

Ex-British Rally Champion and American Rally Champion, David Higgins joins the team for what promises to be a thrilling first gravel round of the season.

David returns to the BRC [alongside good friend Keith Jones, who sat along side David, piloting them to N2 class victory on the 1995 RAC and 27th overall] for the first time in just over a decade after sealing the overall British Rally Championship title in 2004 at the wheel of a Hyundai Accent WRC, the Kielder based event also marks David’s first UK appearance since 2015.

I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the UK stages for the first time since 2015.

This will be my first ever event that I have been able to do just for the enjoyment with no big pressure
— David Higgins

David is no stranger to the British Rally Championship support categories, having won the 1994 A5 British Rally Championship in a factory Peugeot 106 and the British Rally Championship Group N categories in 1997, 1999 & 2002, making David a perfect match for the Ignition outfit’s assault on the BRC Teams Championship title.

At the wheel of the Ignition prepared Fiesta R2T, David will once again take on the challenge of a BRC support category in the form of the BRC4 class, while at the same time scoring points for the teams championship battle.

Being part of a fresh new team that have so much passion for the sport will make this experience even more special for me
— David Higgins

Team Principal, Andrew Coley has spent much of his professional career following and commentating on David’s assault in the American Rally Championship series, which David won an impressive 8 times in a row:

Having David onboard is amazing! His record speaks for itself; he’s the most successful driver in the history of US rallying with 8 championships titles from his stint with Subaru Motorsports USA.

And of course he knows the rally stages of the UK having won the British Rally Championship too.

What I love the most though is that he’s just as happy to get stuck in in a small front wheel drive car! Top bloke.
— Andrew Coley, Team Principal

Bryan Hull, Team manager explains the team’s decision for recruiting an experienced driver to carry the team forward in 2025 and beyond:

I’m delighted that a driver with such an illustrious history as David Higgins has agreed to join our clubman team assault on the BRC.

Our team is about learning and growing and we hope that David’s professionalism can help us in this area and those that are relatively new to the sport can learn from his experience.

Currently this is being publicised as a one off but David has a history of “one offs” in the BRC and winning the title (2004) so watch this space
— Bryan Hull, Team Manager
